From CAQG President Moira MacAvoy:
In this time of national crisis many CAQG members have expressed an interest in making protective face masks and operating room caps. Thanks to Alda for consolidating and clarifying information about making face masks; this information was sent to guild members in an email. Information on making operating room caps is given below.
Please note that these efforts are voluntary and individual. Production of masks and caps is not a CAQG project, and our guild is not being contracted to make these items. That being said, I applaud all of our members who have been working on masks and caps for local health facilities. Good work, ladies!
OPERATING ROOM CAPS (A NEW INITIATIVE)
The University of Virginia Health system has put out a call for operating room hats. They can be made in cotton, polyester, or a cotton-poly blend. Interested guild members are welcome to contribute. Patterns and ideas can be found at

The hospital will wash all hats they receive, so there is no need to pre-wash anything. Direct any questions to Maureen Oswald [email protected]
or LaDelle Gay 434-806-1357 (cell).
Gloria Bowers is the guild contact. If you make hats, let her know, and she will arrange getting the hats from members and passing them on to UVA.
