Quilting in Charlottesville
CAQG, the Charlottesville Area Quilt Guild, is an umbrella group serving approximately 180 quilters in the area surrounding Charlottesville, Virginia. The Guild as a whole meets twice a year, while its four chapters meet weekly or bi-weekly.
In the spring of odd-numbered years, the Guild holds a public show of members' work. In 2019, the show was held on April 6-7. The next public show will be in the spring of 2021.
The Guild also hosts yearly workshops with nationally known teachers and monthly mini-workshops that draw from the Guild's talented pool of quilters. In addition, it serves as an educational organization, preserving the art of quilting and sharing it with the community. The Guild is active in many service projects providing quilts for comfort, beauty, and fund-raising efforts.
The June Guild Newsletter, Quilting Lines, is now available in its entirety online. Just click the link below!
Membership is open to all. We welcome both beginners and experienced quilters. We gather for conversation, inspiration, working together, and working separately. We help each other through the inevitable snaggles of quilting in particular and life in general.
A membership form is available HERE. Guild membership is required; joining any chapter(s) is optional. New members joining after June 30 pay half of the guild and chapter membership dues noted on the form for the rest of the current year. For new members joining in October-December and paying full dues, membership includes the rest of the current year and all of the following one. Mail the form and a check (made payable to CAQG) to:
