Where can I find Guild policies?
The Guild membership approved new Bylaws in August 2023. The Board approved the guiding document Standard Rules and Practices (SRPs) in December 2023 and revised it in March 2024. The link goes to the most recent version.
Can I join the Charlottesville Area Quilters Guild even if I am a beginner?
Yes! All levels are welcome in our guild.
Do I have to join a chapter?
No.
Can I join more than one chapter?
Yes.
Do I have to be a member to enter a quilt in the CAQG Quilt Show?
Yes.
Can I take CAQG workshops if I am not a member?
Non-members may sign up for Spring and Fall workshops if there are spaces left after members have registered. The free Mini-Workshops are only available to CAQG members.
Can I donate items to CAQG?
No. Charlottesville Area Quilters Guild is unable to process unwanted goods for non-guild members. We do not accept fabrics, notions, scraps, trims, tools, machines, furniture, patterns, or books from the community. If you need to dispose of these items, you may be able to find a local charity to help you. CAQG is not affiliated with any such organization.
Can I hire CAQG members for sewing or quilting jobs?
No. Charlottesville Area Quilters guild is a recreational, educational organization. We do not arrange paid employment for our members or for the community.
